Tap, tap, tap....Is this thing on?
My 100 pound dog, 'Elvis' has developed a phobia of gusty, and strong blowing wind and is extremely unlikely, (read that as a firm NOT A CHANCE), to venture outside during periods of strong and gusty winds.. I fully expected to find a huge and rather smelly surprise on the floor this morning. Fortunately, he has AMAZING bowel control. The winds that have been blowing 20-30 for the past 36 hours have subsided. I'm not sure I've ever seen such a look of relief on a dog's face before. Yes, I know. Too much information.
Both big white dog, and big white dog's owner are having a pretty good day. He's curled up on the couch. At least he isn't under my desk right now, and I don't have to try to find room for my size 11's under there as I write. He spent all day yesterday and most of last night curled up under my L-shaped desk, (similar to this one). When Elvis was a few years younger and about 90 pounds lighter he adopted the space under the desk as his den. Today, he's a few pounds heavier and 5 or 6 years older it's still his den. If my house ever gets destroyed by a tornado, he'll survive, he's got that taking shelter under a heavy desk down to a science. I guess it's better than having him walking the streets. He'd never make it in the real world. He's too timid. He needs a special tag on his collar, "I'm not abused, I'm terrified and I want to go home."
Anyone sick and tired of winter yet? I am, and it's still mid-November here. It looks like it will be a week or ten days before the night time low temperatures will drop below freezing. I hate winter. always have. I can safely state with utmost conviction the older I get, the more I despise winter and cold. In addition to seasonal depression, the cold aggravates my aches and pains , and makes me even grumpier than normal.
I can hear the peanut gallery from here. "How is that possible?"
Well, well, well...I've made it another day...
See you tomorrow...
