It was a long one...

That's what she said.

It's been a long day here in the wastelands, four hours sleep before a 7 am lab appointment for the vampires, 8 am for the doc.  9am for the psychologist, more on that in a bit.  10 am for vaccinations (flu, pneumonia and a tetanus booster), a long walk (for an old fat guy with a wonky back and goofy knees) in the cold and wind to and from a bus stop.   All this on an empty stomach and NO COFFEE!!!  Fasting labs typically require um...fasting.

Well, it's official, I have some depression issues.   I laughed, the psychologist laughed, we laughed.  She volunteered to be my sleep buddy, WOO HOO, wait; a sleep buddy not a SLEEP BUDDY; never mind.   She liked one of my standard philosophies and asked if she could use it.  She's referring me for anti-depressant evaluation.  How about a prescription to a warm tropical island, white sandy beaches caressed by balmy sea breezes.  The bad news, she wants me to give up coffee after 2pm.  Argh!!! depressed and she's gonna take away my coffee!  At the risk of repeating myself ARGH!!!  She doesn't particularly appreciate my desire to throw a brick throw the television or smash things with a hammer, she does however, admire my self control.

For a good laugh, peppered with dirty looks, ask the nurse who is about to update your vaccinations if said vaccinations will cause autism.  I should probably learn to check my weird sense of humor at the door...Nah, who am I kidding, that's no fun.

In other non-news news former New York governor George Pataki officially 'suspends' his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination.  Mike Huckabee has a problem with numbers, or the English language, take your pick.  Here in late December this part of the wastelands are experiencing severe flooding.  Huckabee, in an interview with CNN states; "The Arkansas river is flowing at four hundred, thousand, thousand, four hundred thousand feet per second."  Really? almost 273,000 mph?  Holy shit that's alotta water.  Even lil' ole me, a liberal arts type can figure that out.

Everyone misspeaks from time to time, just own up to your mistakes and move on.  Mike didn't do that,  Mike stood by his words, confirming and reaffirming them...

Tonight at midnight (two months ago) the Midnight Ramblings reboot/relaunch began again.  Thus far nine weeks of village idiot Ramblings.  I'm inching closer to that 55 consecutive entries goal.  Amazed, astounded, dazed, confused and gobsmacked.

As always, thanks.

See you tomorrow.

*I'm early, so sue me, I'm tired, my back hurts and I've got a headache.
