It's early April here in the wastelands. The weather here is normal for the wastelands, that is to say abnormal for any 'civilized' part of the world. Currently it's 16° C/60°F with thunder storms and high winds 25-35 mph (40-55 kph). Over the weekend, (that would be my weekend and not yours, unless of course you'd like to trade), sub-freezing low temperatures, and more wind; 30-40 mph gusting 45-60; (50-65/70-90 kph).
Wot the fluff Mother nature? Would you make up your mind? Well, at least it isn't a winter storm or tornadoes. That's probably next week.
Here in the wastelands we've already seen this show, two weeks ago. Right after the vernal equinox our temperatures were 18°C / 65° F. Mother Nature graced us with our first official 'Spring' thunder-boomer-storm. It wasn't quite a gully-washer but it was a good storm. Especially, if like me, one digs thunderstorms. Republic P-47's and Lockheed p-38's (some of you will get the reference), very, very frightening. It ushered in the fresh spring rain oft talked about in poetry and literature world wide. Everyone knows the smell of a fresh spring rain, the odor produced by Actinomycetes bacteria spores and a yellowish oil, petrichor; blood of the stone, not so much. Warm spring thunderstorms, and a freeze warning that night.
At the risk of repeating myself, wot the fluff Mother nature? Would you make up your damn mind?
The two week forecast predicts a return to 'normal' mild wasteland spring temperatures. Which means mostly normal for other, more 'civilized' parts of the world.
Now with the only sports news that is fit to print, the Hockey game I alluded to yesterday, (your yesterday not mine as that post was written today. I know, Two posts in one day? Who am I and what have I done with the real me?), is not far from starting. With luck, (betcha thought I was going to do that touch wood, not that I'm superstitious thing again, right?) the Blues will get the W and the two points that go along with it. Be kind Bluenotes, my blood pressure is just starting to get where it needs to be.
In other news, I'm still here, ticking off two of the digital sticky notes on the desktop. I'm still ahead of the thundering herd of screaming fans and loyal supporters, barely.
You can cheer now.
No applause, just throw money...
Thanks.
See you tomorrow.
