Funny how this cross-time, wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey convergence of our timelines worked out. (Yes, yes, I know. That was a lot of time references. We don't want to run out of time do we?) I'm attempting to write this one on the same day Fasten your seatbelts published. Nearly everything that applied then applies now. I know, still ancient history, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah.
Tonight the Blues are in Chicago for the rubber game of the regular season. The Blackhawks are in sole possession of third place in the Division and the Bluenotes are tied with Dallas for the top spot in the Division, still the same division. All three teams have clinched, the Stars and Notes are both vying for the top seeds in the Division and in the Conference for home ice advantage.
The Blues and Hawks are likely to have at least 4 games and maybe as many as 7 left against one another, in the first round of the playoffs.
It's probably a good thing the two teams don't like the other, makes it easier to pound the living crap outta your arch-rival nemeses.
Keep your seat belts buckled, I-55, Route 66 may be a bumpy ride for the next few weeks.

As always, thanks for your time.
See you on Monday, touch wood, (not that I'm superstitious or anything).
*Postscript. It was a good night for the Blues, any time the Blues beat the Blackhawks is a good night. Beating them in overtime to clinch home ice for at least the first round of the playoffs is a better night. One game left in the regular season, if the Notes get at least one more point than does Dallas, St. Louis will win the Conference and the Division, securing home ice throughout the playoffs. Yes, I know, still ancient history...
