For what it's worth.

The Rambles are in danger of crashing.  We're clipping the trees here.  This is Tuesday, I haven't written one of these since last Wednesday.  Not counting this one, the bucket of scheduled entries runs dry on Friday, (yes, your Friday, and for the first time, mine as well.  May 20, 2015...).  Ugh. I'm certain none of us expected it would last.  I know I didn't.

This isn't filler to make the page bigger.  Really.
So, how bout' dem Bluenotes?  It took seven games to beat Chicago in the first round, and seven more to beat the Stars in the second.  Now, they are one of four teams remaining in the hunt for the Cup and in the conference finals for the first time in 15 years.  No more than 13 games remaining, seven wins away from their first championship.  (Touch wood, not that I'm superstitious or anything).

The Sharks players said they played well on Sunday night.  The boys in the Blue Note weren't happy with their performance and thought they could have played better.   St. Louis won Game one, Game two is tonight under the Arch.

The Blues lead scorer missed the morning practice, for good reason, he was at the hospital.  Aleksandr Tarasenko was born this morning, the son of proud parents  Yana and Vladimir Tarasenko.   I would imagine Grandpa, now great grandpa in Siberia is взволнован и горд, (no, I don't speak Russian.  I can barely speak English.  Google translate is your friend).  Vladimir's grandfather watches every game thanks to the NHL network that his grandson has hooked him up with.  The time difference will make for an early morning in western Siberia.

This is scheduled to post on the 24th, leaving five entries remaining to get me through until June.  Let me do the math here.  Hmm, "I put two and two together, and added twelve and carried five;" (reference), twenty-seven entries will get a full six months of Ramblin's.  Actual mileage may vary.

It is what it is, and for what it's worth is in the bag.  As always, Спасибо.

See you tomorrow.

Just ramblin'

Thursday evening and game 4 of the Playoffs are underway.  Betcha can't guess what's on TV here?  Midway through the first with no score.  Scratch that, #91 Mr. Tarasenko just hit the back of the net on the breakaway.  The Notes lost game one in Dallas, won game two in overtime, and dominated the Stars in game three, winning 6-1.  Many of the experts are predicting the Blues to win this series, (touch wood, not that I'm superstitious or anything), and move into the Conference finals.

LET'S GO BLUES!!!

Yes, still history, though not so ancient history now.  If I can get this one in before midnight, I can keep 6 entries ready to go.  Maybe I can gain a little ground over the weekend.  I wouldn't count on that though.  Seven entries (with this one) ready to post, eleven posting days before June, one holiday, and one birthday in the mix means I might be able to make it.  I wouldn't count on that either.  I suppose it depends on what I can find to ramble about.

Whatta little douchebag.  Had I done something like this when I was 15 I'm not certain I would have made it to my 16th.  Not only urinating in public, but urinating on the public.  I suppose the old saying about being pissed off is better than being pissed on applies here.   He's really lucky he isn't my kid.

I probably need to have one of these tossed to me help keep the Ramble afloat.  Oh, and maybe a dye marker or two for the rescue attempts.  Call the Coasties for a SAR bird.  This close to the shores of June I probably won't need the C-130.  A helo and the rescue swimmer will probably be enough.  Splashing around calling for a life ring, I know my luck though.  I'll shout life ring and the life guard in the tower will hear anchor...

The anchor will be about 50,000 lbs. those links weigh 150 to 200 lbs each, each shot, the 15 fathoms (90') between the red links probably tip the scales at 10,000 lbs.  The white links on either side of the red one will tell you the number of shots.  I counted at least 12 shots, 1100'.  200,000 lbs sounding like a freight train.  Turn up the volume.

A storehouse of trivial B.S.  Ugh, I hate the way my brain works sometimes.

Thanks.

See you tomorrow, most likely.

*Postscript.  Not a good night at the rink.  Saturday afternoon in Dallas game 5.

Rat (expletives deleted) bastards.

There are a few people ID10T's out there who are lucky they weren't within reach last night.  Had I gotten my hands around the pencil necks of the program directors for NBC sports network, Fox Sports MW, and of course CenturyLink Prism I may have committed atrocious bloody murder.

BUCKING FAT RASTARDS!

No jury of my peers, in this case peers would have to be hockey fans would convict me.  A national network, NBCSN carried the game, the listing on the channel guide confirmed it.  They decided to broadcast English Premier League soccer instead.  Soccer is a great sport I'm sure, as far as sports things goes, and enjoyed by people world wide.  But here in the wastelands, in lieu of an intense rivalry, in game seven of the first round of the playoffs, ummm not so much.  The scrawling crawl across the bottom of the soccer game told me I could find the Black and Blue game 7 on Foxsports Mid-West.

Fine, groovy.  I'd rather watch it there anyway.  Except it wasn't there.  One FSMW channel broadcast a rerun of a UFC event from November 2014.  Really?  18 month old ancient history fights in which two people attempt to beat the living crap out of one another.  Seriously?  The other FSMW had Royals Baseball.  I get it, baseball is America's pass time, and the Royals are the world champs, whose boring, long-assed season is just beginning.  But a tough playoff game seven with the Blues trying to break a 3-year 1st round curse and the defending Stanley Cup champs trying their best to defend it.

RUCKING BAT FASTARDS!

Okay, plan "C".  I can tune in online to a StL. radio station I know will be broadcasting.  Except, due to the other previously mentioned circumstances everyone and their uncles were eating up bandwidth forcing some major buffering issues.  Ugh.

Plan "D".  NHL.com will have a live audio feed of the game, with Chicago broadcasters, from a Chicago station.  Ugh.

Fox Sports did finally pick up the game when the fights were done, at the top of the final period.

UCKINGFAY ATRAY ASTARDSBAY!

On the plus side, I'm still here and ahead of the pack.  You won't have to put up with my ranting about hockey for a few days.  Until Round 2 picks up against Dallas that is.

On the down side, I'm still here and only barely ahead of the pack.  You may very well have to put up with more inane, insane ramblings though.

As always, thanks for your time.

See you on Monday, I presume.  Peace.

One down, one to go.

Eleven pm and I'm trying to get something written to maintain my precious little, and rapidly dwindling lead time of 7 entries.  Crikey, zoikes, and you can even toss in an oy vey or two.  This one will publish ten days from now.  (That would be 10 days wasteland time.)

I'm still staying far away from news, politics and even Twitter.  I really have no bloody clue as to what is happening in the big wide world outside the borders of the wasteland.  Inside the borders of the wastelands isn't much better.

The Bluenotes beat Chicago yesterday, taking a 2-1 series lead into game 4 tomorrow night in Chi-town.  I'll be there, glass side...in spirit, and here with TV glass seats in body.  The Hawks will be  loaded for bear.

The bear will be lookin' tae pick a fight and bring a 3-1 lead back home to STL.
#LetsGoBlues

Yes, still old news, still not news, and more aimless rambling in the vain attempt to get to that four full months goal.

One down, and one more to go.  All that and I've managed to stock the buffer zone again, for 30 minutes...

As always, thanks.

See you tomorrow, I promise.
Well, unless I get abducted by aliens, hauled off by Homeland Security,
or suffer an unforeseen spontaneous human combustion event.
On second thought, See you tomorrow, probably...

Deja vu all over again.

Funny how this cross-time, wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey convergence of our timelines worked out. (Yes, yes, I know.  That was a lot of time references.  We don't want to run out of time do we?)  I'm attempting to write this one on the same day Fasten your seatbelts published.  Nearly everything that applied then applies now.  I know, still ancient history, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah.

Tonight the Blues are in Chicago for the rubber game of the regular season.  The Blackhawks are in sole possession of third place in the Division and the Bluenotes are tied with Dallas for the top spot in the Division, still the same division.  All three teams have clinched, the Stars and Notes are both vying for the top seeds in the Division and in the Conference for home ice advantage.

The Blues and Hawks are likely to have at least 4 games and maybe as many as 7 left against one another, in the first round of the playoffs.

It's probably a good thing the two teams don't like the other, makes it easier to pound the living crap outta your arch-rival
nemeses.

Keep your seat belts buckled, I-55, Route 66 may be a bumpy ride for the next few weeks.

As always, thanks for your time.
See you on Monday, touch wood, (not that I'm superstitious or anything).

*Postscript.  It was a good night for the Blues, any time the Blues beat the Blackhawks is a good night.  Beating them in overtime to clinch home ice for at least the first round of the playoffs is a better night.  One game left in the regular season, if the Notes get at least one more point than does Dallas, St. Louis will win the Conference and the Division, securing home ice throughout the playoffs.  Yes, I know, still ancient history...

I'm still playing.

It's hockey night tonight.  The regular season is winding down.  Our Bluenotes have clinched a playoff spot for the 40th time in their 50 year history.  The only team from the first expansion in 1967 not to have hoisted the Cup.  This is their year, touch wood.  (Not that I'm superstitious or anything.)  Still after a rough year plagued with stretches of bad play and injuries the Notes are currently tied with Dallas for first in the Central Division.  How badly have they suffered with the injured list?  As of today, they've lost 266 man-days to injury.  Through 75 games of an 82 game schedule an average of nearly 5 players, 25% of the roster. have missed every game.  St. Louis has not been able to bring their starting roster to the rink at all since the season opened on October 8th.

Yes, still ancient history, you still don't care, yada, yada, yada.  In order to write these, I need subject material.  No news, is not news, and nothing for me to write home about.  I will say that either through avoiding CNN, the use of an anti-depressant or both I seem to be on a much more even keel.  My doctor called me the most stable patient she has.  That makes me a wee bit concerned about the rest of her patients.  Stable is not a term I would necessarily use to describe myself.

I should be working on the Serenity game, I've got a cubic metric butt-ton to do before the next session;  Encounters to detail, an attack to plan and coordinate, an attack force to build, the good, bad and ugly NPC's to craft.  All that and at least one way out for the hapless PC's.   I make it sound like work.  Well, it is to a point, but it also a creative part of the hobby that I truly enjoy.  The more I can do now, the more I can help suspend disbelief for the players next Sunday.  The more they can suspend that disbelief, the better story we can tell.  When we collectively tell a good story we all win.

We're right in the middle of act II, leading right to the climax of the story.  The most the players can hope for is a draw.  I thought about calling it a "Wash," (reference).  Too soon?  I'll be hitting them with a moral dilemma.  They'll either be able to extract their revenge on their betrayer, or they'll be able to prevent the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians, Alliance citizens, and Federal employees.  Just not both.  Yep, those same people who have just squashed the Browncoat independence movement and are now trying to impose their will and control over the rest off  the 'Verse'.  Sometimes, I really dig my job...

As always, it ain't much.  It's done, locked and loaded.  Thanks.

See you tomorrow.

Fasten your seatbelts.

While not as storied as the Route 66 Cardinals vs. Cubs rivalry, the Blackhawks and the Bluenotes are, ahem, to say the least, a bit more intense.  I guess I'll find out how intense this evening, (yes, I know.  Ancient history for you).  Tonight, (a month ago for you. "Oy, what happened to that 10-week buffer zone?" He queried.) they'll be in St. Louis.  Both teams should be well rested and are coming off wins on Sunday.  Both teams are currently in the playoffs and are trying to win the division, the same division.  The Hawks have loaded the roster in the attempt to keep possession of Lord Stanley's Cup and are probably coming on like gangbusters and bringing the fire of vengeance along for the ride.
IF,
and that is a big if, (get it?) the Notes are prepared to play hard for at least 65 minutes, and if they decide to bring their "A" game it should be good.  With a win in regulation the Blues will move into a tie for second place in the Division.

Yeah, yeah.  I get it.  Old news and moot.   This is what we get when I avoid news, politics and idiots.  Note: the three are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
On the plus side, I've managed to pad the buffer again.  It will be loaded with 21 entries for ten hours now...

Go raibh maith agat.
See you tomorrow.

Postscript,  It was a GOOD night for The Notes. Not as good as it could have been as it went to the shootout.  The Blues played hard for the 65 minutes I mentioned earlier.  :)

It's been a good day.

Saturday night in the wastelands.

I didn't get enough sleep, normal.  The big, white dog (It's still Elvis) wasn't an ass last night.  The weather isn't bad, temperatures mild and springlike, it's still winter and it still sucks, but at least it's not WINTRY!  All in all it's been a good day.

Mark your calendars, Today, well for me anyway, was a two sports thingy sports watching day.   For the 14th year in a row the Navy Midshipmen of Annapolis have defeated their arch rivals, the Army Black Knight Cadets from West Point.  Navy leads the series, 60–49–7.  Go Navy, Beat Army; again.  It was a good game, most of them are, played the way football should be played. The young men on either side of the field with a prior commitment have little chance of becoming overpaid prima donna professionals sportsball players.  Here's hoping they stay safe in the next part of the journeys.

"Army beats Navy" said no Facebook post... EVAH.

Today's second sportsthingy was, you've guessed it, frozen-rubber-disk sportsthing.  The down, up-down, down-up St. Louis Blues are up again, tonight anyway.  They shutout the Stars 3-0.  Allen was perfect in net, hence the shutout. and the Blues Captain got everyone fired up, with a Goal, an assist, and a fight;  The Gordie Howe Hat trick.  I know.  You still don't give a f... care.

I didn't run the Serenity game last week, we had a scheduling conflict, (again, due to shuffling the posting order around, this is not the same one I mentioned yesterday).  Not that I'm terribly disappointed as it gave me more recharge time on my precious introverted energy.

If you are a regular reader you'll know that I've mentioned trying to find that ever so elusive 'voice' for Midnight Ramblings.  I'm starting to wonder, is this it?

As always thanks...

See you on Monday.  Peace.
