While not as storied as the Route 66 Cardinals vs. Cubs rivalry, the Blackhawks and the Bluenotes are, ahem, to say the least, a bit more intense. I guess I'll find out how intense this evening, (yes, I know. Ancient history for you). Tonight, (a month ago for you. "Oy, what happened to that 10-week buffer zone?" He queried.) they'll be in St. Louis. Both teams should be well rested and are coming off wins on Sunday. Both teams are currently in the playoffs and are trying to win the division, the same division. The Hawks have loaded the roster in the attempt to keep possession of Lord Stanley's Cup and are probably coming on like gangbusters and bringing the fire of vengeance along for the ride.
IF,
and that is a big if, (get it?) the Notes are prepared to play hard for at least 65 minutes, and if they decide to bring their "A" game it should be good. With a win in regulation the Blues will move into a tie for second place in the Division.
Yeah, yeah. I get it. Old news and moot. This is what we get when I avoid news, politics and idiots. Note: the three are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
On the plus side, I've managed to pad the buffer again. It will be loaded with 21 entries for ten hours now...
Go raibh maith agat.
Go raibh maith agat.
See you tomorrow.
Postscript, It was a GOOD night for The Notes. Not as good as it could have been as it went to the shootout. The Blues played hard for the 65 minutes I mentioned earlier. :)
